Brief synopsis of Final Fantasy IV

One of the best-loved games in the ever-popular Final Fantasy series returns with enhanced dual screen 3D graphics, and inspiring remixed score, fully voiced cut-scenes and touch screen control.

When a noble dark knight of Baron is ordered to seize four all-powerful crystals from the peace-loving realms bordering his homeland, he must make a terrible choice: should he betray his conscience or his power-hungry king?

Final Fantasy IV for the DS stays faithful to the classic role-playing that has appealed to fans of the franchise for so long. Players must travel the world, going to various towns and dungeons, defeating a host of terrifying creatures as they progress. Vital information and clues are gathered along the way by friendly characters, which help your character progress. Every time you win a battle or successfully complete a task, you will earn experience, giving you points. Earning enough points will make the character 'level up', resulting in making you more powerful. It is also possible for players to upgrade their characters with new and improved items and equipment. All in a day's work for another thrilling entry - albeit a revamped one - in the Final Fantasy series.

Had this on US import for a week now. Absolutely brilliant and brought back many memories of playing it as a child. I would recommend any final fantasy or RPG fan rent\purchase this game as soon as possible!

Rated - 5 starsabsolutely brilliant

When I first heard Final Fantasy 4 was being remade for the ds, my expectations were low. As it is my favourite of the series, and one of my all time favourite rpgs, I expected to be more disappointed with the changes than anything. Playing through final fantasy 3 for the ds all but confirmed my fears. The childish characters seemed more likely to decorate your room than kill dangerous monsters. When I finally got my hands on FF4, though, I was quite surprised. The new version has amazing graphics, great cut scenes, enhanced skills, and improved difficulty that make for a great experience. And despite what I expected, the only character remade to look overwhelmingly girly was Edward

The good

Updated graphics are very well done. Among the best on the ds for any game

The enhancements to character skills, as well as decant abilities, add some nice flavour to the game without completely changing the feel.

The increased difficulty means you won't fly through it in a day due to already having played it. The random encounters are much harder, and the bosses even more so

The Bad

- Final Fantasy 4: Advance changes aren't in

In Conclusion

They did a great job with this remake. The one major complaint I have is not including the changes from the advance version, namely that final dungeon. Had they included that dungeon, this would have been the perfect remake. I give this one a solid A.

Id definitely reccomed this to any fan of rpgs/jrpgs.

Couldn't really get into this game, a bit slow with the animations.
