Brief synopsis of Fallout 3

Vault 101 - Jewel of the Wastes. For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

If you play this and find Halo 3 to be more fun, you should commit suicide OR have a vivisectomy.

exploration of Oblivion, more voice actors (more than just 7!) and getting to shoot people in the face, instead of having to rely on a sword.

this is going to be good.

I have played through the entire game, including the side quests and the optional downloadable side quests. This game pulls you in and you will find yourself playing it for longer than is healthy! This is thanks to the hauntingly isolated post nuclear atmosphere and quirky retro music from the radio stations. This unique atmosphere complements the mature storyline and many compelling side quests. This is not really a rental option as to get the most out of the game you would need it it for a few weeks at least. If you liked oblivion you should love this.

Rated - 5 starsSimply Fantastic

This is probably my favourite single player game since Oblivion.

This game is practically Oblivion with a face lift and guns. The environments look spectacular and the gameplay is amazing.

Don't be fooled when you swear you should have hit that bandit with a perfect head shot...this is an RPG. Being godly at Call of Duty 4 or Halo 3 does not mean you will be good at this. This game, like Oblivion before it, is all about character development.

The story is probably the games strong point - some people have complained that the side quests are very frustrating - they seem to forget that these are OPTIONAL. You can stick to the main quest through out the game. It is advisable to complete the side quests though, as it will ultimatley make the main quest easier to accomplish.

Overall: fantastic game, great graphics, involving storyline, endless capabilites.

Don't be fooled - it's not a shoot 'em up, this is an RPG - Bethesda's bread and butter.
