I've just played this for a couple of hours and it has really impressed me.

At the beginning, your character is suffering from untreated malaria so has often blurry vision and can't wander far without getting sick. Follow the first few missions and soon you'll have more freedom to explore.

When you start to see the African environment in glorious daylight it really is something. Certain scenes look better than others. Favourite so far is sailing down a river on a boat which looks almost films like. Some of the close up vegetation doesn't look quite so good but even that is the equivalent of a good PC game. Overall though, these graphics are some of the best I've seen on the PS3.

The fighting is much more realistic (ie difficult) than say GTA4. There's no auto aim, no crosshair sights, just the option to look down the barrel and fire (there are sniper rifles available later on though). This realism spreads to other aspects of the game too and gives it a mature feel, none of the puerile silly stuff that spoils many other so called adult games. This is a very grown up world where you can almost feel the pain of the violence and the heat from the burning sun.

You may get bored of it after a few hours, but cannot deny it's initial impact. If you love it, you'll buy it, if not a good few hours of fun setting fire to grassland and speeding through the wilderness.

Just to clarify, i dont think there is an ability for you to use to take shrapnel out of your arm besides just yanking it! but any of these moments you would have seen would just been in game FMV sequences. Anyway after saying that, this game looks Badass. amazing visuals and styling, perfect setting and the gameplay is flawless. Cant wait.

Rated - 1 starPoor, unfinished, over hyped, boring.

My title pretty much sums this game up, after reading so many reviews about this game before it was released I decided to buy it and I regretted it within the first 2 hours of playing it.

The game is so repetitive, you drive half way across the map to pick up a quest then you have to drive another 10-15 minutes in the other direction to the objective only to find you have to kill 5-10 people then drive bacak again, oh and along the way are checkpoints of guards that attack you for no reason, chase you in jeeps much faster than yours and respawn 2 minutes after you kill them.

Yes there are side missions but they are always exactly the same thing over and over again.

AVOID this over hyped game, don't listen to the people that gave it 5/5 - listen to the real customers or the hundreds of people that hate the game on ubisoft's own forum. (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?a=frm&f=152106837 5)
