Brief synopsis of Pro Evolution Soccer 2009

PES 2009 is the latest installment of the award-winning Pro Evolution Soccer Series, which is known by millions of fans for its superior gameplay and incredible realism. For PES 2009, Konami is already planning a raft of extensive new additions that will further bridge the gap between PES and the real thing. The new game has undergone a stunning graphical update to ensure its players look and move even more like their real-life counterparts. Similarly, all-new options allow users to tailor the game to their own tastes, while new moves, innovative new control elements and key online elements will further the realism of the new game.

Rated - 4 starsPES 2009- making steps

JoshWhitey from London , 12/10/2008

The new pro evolution soccer game takes baby steps towards what the title really should be. 5 years ago it had a massive upper hand over fifa and it beat it in nearly every way, since then little has changed. Konami has kept the game with its great gameplay but small graphics changes and player likeness changes have halted this game reaching the height it should be. Now although it hasn't made all changes needed, PES 2009 has made sure it has improved its strongest point:- gameplay. It has made it slightly harder to break through and changed tricks and control to make it feel like a re-vitalised game, also, with its 'become a hero' game mode it brings a totally new angle to the game, with the licensed champions league and wembley stadium being the icing on the cake. Although not perfect PES 2009 is still classic pes in its purest form...compare it to its predecessors and it is still a great sporting game and a wonderful gaming experience.

Rated - 1 starYear By Year Worst and Worst

A customer from London , 21/10/2008

Im a big fan of the konami pro series since ISS but since PES 7 It seems like konami are on a down hill slope, the movement and AI is horrible and i can honestly say i dont see improves from PES 2008 whereas EA year by year step there game up, and this year with fifa 09 have produced arguably the best football ever.

Now, before i begin, let me just say that i've played PES since the days of PES 2 and even back to the ISS series on the N64, and i've loved them. PES 2, 3, 4 and 5 are amazing games. But now, it's stale, and very very outdated. The game engine is very, very old (as in PES 5 old) and it show after you play FIFA 09. The graphics haven't changed since PES 6, and this isn't good enough Konami.

EA say they've made over 250 improvements since FIFA 08, and i can believe them. I've struggled to see what improvements they've made with PES 2009. Legend mode is very frustrating to that of Be A Pro. You can't call for the pass, and when in acres of space, the AI (which isn't very smart) will play the Hollywood ball, rather than the short, simple pass. It's sad to see once such a great series, fall behind like this. I love PES, i really do. But Konami can't expect people to spend their hard earned money on a game that's not finished and contains so little.

And don't get me started with the online mode...

Rated - 0 starsThis Game is Totaly Sh*t

A customer from Albert square , 22/10/2008

Im the same as the other people played pro evo for years but its been getting worse over the years and now its taken its final nose dive and lost alot of fans to Fifa 09.

The live is a joke, major lagg like the rest of the pro evo games except this one seems worse when your not in possession your players have a mind of their own, the whole style of game play is sh*t compaired to Fifa 09.

Even in single player the games are slow and their not flowing because of the need for the game to load every time there is a throw in, free kick ect ( all the time ) .

FIfa has alot more game types, online modes and online leagues alot of online interaction features u dont find on pro evo, even andy grey on commentary instead of the repetative 30 seconds behind nob on pro evo.

And pro evo still have not caught up with the real strips, club names ect and have alot less clubs to choose from.

Trust me or see for your self but if your going to rent pro evo rent fifa 09 too so your not dissapointed because you will be sending the pro back the next day.
