Brief synopsis of Monopoly

Celebrating over 70 years of family fun, the legendary property trading game Monopoly is hitting Wii in a whole new way! The world's most popular board game returns in 2008 with 'Monopoly: Here & Now - The World Edition,' a modern makeover of the classic game. With a host of current-day cities and landmarks from all over the world, this new version will let players wheel and deal and compete to own some of the most recognised locales on Earth. EA brings this exciting new edition of the beloved board game to Wii for the first time along with entirely new features that focus on super-fast play, fun and interactive minigames and four-player simultaneous gameplay. Players can now host the ultimate Monopoly night with family and friends.

Rated - 0 starsI don't like this game

I'm not even sure why I put it on my game list as there's not much you can expect from it, except for it to be no different to the board game.

I enjoy the board game, however the idea of playing numerous monopoly games in a row in order to work your way through a 'passport' (their idea of levels), is quite boring, especially when you want to play against the computer, if you are made bankrupt you then have to wait until the computer has finished playing. Yawn. Buy the boardgame..much more fun as the rules can be bent!

I'm sending it back today!

Rated - 1 starMonopoly - MONOTONOUS!

Salvarsan from Exeter , 29/04/2009

Oh how painful is this game?!! Firstly, I can only cope with playing this game on mute. The same innane commentary is repeated over and over again, which really slows the gameplay. The fact that the tokens also have to pass across each square individually rather than having the facility to skip to the destination square also makes the game painfully slow. No secret that Wii as a platform doesn't have the greatest graphics capability, but they've really missed a trick here. It's hard to see who owns what on the board, the token movements are tiny, and you would have thought they may have made some more of the 3D element on the World Board - themed LARGE 3D hotels specific to the city?

Set aside at least 2 hours for a 2 player game - and then another 2 hours to recover from the coma you will have slipped into......

Accurately reproduces the traditional game, with some extra mini games included as well. The addittion of online play would add to the appeal though.

The Board Game in its many versions has kept our family entertained on many occasions. This did not, it was on its way back to Tesco the same day as it arrived.
