Brief synopsis of Monopoly

Celebrating over 70 years of family fun, the legendary property trading game Monopoly is hitting Xbox 360 in a whole new way! The world's most popular board game returns in 2008 with 'Monopoly: Here & Now - The World Edition,' a modern makeover of the classic game. With a host of current-day cities and landmarks from all over the world, this new version will let players wheel and deal and compete to own some of the most recognised locales on Earth. EA brings this exciting new edition of the beloved board game to Xbox 360 for the first time along with entirely new features that focus on super-fast play, fun and interactive minigames and four-player simultaneous gameplay. Players can now host the ultimate Monopoly night with family and friends.

First of all lets get the major gripe about this game outof the way There's no Online mode!

Big Big letdown for a game like this. For a primarily multiplayer title to not have an online option just drops the rating hugely.

Now that thats over with Monopoly is not a bad little version of the board game. There are 2 modes the first being classic which is standard rules monopoly and if you don't know the rules to this have you been living in a hole at xmas? Second mode is called Richest. In this mode each turn 4 dice are rolled, you then playa mini game and the positions that you come determines the order in which the dice are chosen. You then get dealt cards which correspond to the places on the board. If noone owns this property then you take ownership of it however if someone does own it then you are faced with having to give one of your properties as rent. (The number of properties given depends on whether the set is owned or houses/hotels are placed.) At the end of each round the value of your properties are added up and richest owner heads the leaderboard. This goes on for 4,6 or 8 rounds dependant on the mode played. It makes for an exciting twist on ther classic game and is quite enjoyable provided the people that you are playing against don't mind losing (My arm still hurts after the punch off my missus :( )

All in all its a good adaption of the classic game the little monopoly man chirps in a lot and you can't switch him off (Shame) but when Live goes down this xmas (Which its bound to do again this year) It'll do to pass the time with Granny and Grandad:)

NB Achievement Hunters should note there is a very high amount of Achievements that can be gained easily from this game and if you are willing to put the time in and have 2 controllers thery can be boosted very easily.

Im a big monopoly fan, but from reading the reviews i wasn't expecting much, but when i got into it, i couldn't put it down - its really addictive!! the downside is that it doesn't offer online play but overall, i must say im quite tempted to buy it!

IT IS QUITE DIFFICULT/FRUSTRATING AT TIMES

NO ONLINE MULTIPLAYER IS A MAJOR FLAW
