Forever Young on DVD (1992)
RelatedCritics ReviewsOriginally made for the First Love TV series, this tangled tale of faded fame and unresolved differences is told via a series of bitterly nostalgic flashbacks. Although Nicholas Gecks is now a priest and James Aubrey a teacher, they were once part of a 1950s rock band. Their rivalry resurfaces as reunion bonhomie is replaced by competition for the attention of single-mother Karen Archer, which has a traumatic effect on her altar boy son. As you'd expect, given that Ray Connolly wrote That'll Be the Day and Stardust, the monochrome memoirs make more impact than the modern-day melodrama. New York Times "...Gibson is good enough to give the film substance....Curtis also is attractive as Claire..."
Pleasant, light-hearted romantic movie, a throwback to the past. Members ReviewsReviews Voted Most Helpful |
