Brief synopsis of Forever Young

A test pilot loses his true love so he volunteers to become cryogenically frozen for an experiment. Many years later a group of young boys stumble across his frozen capsule and revive him. He befriends the boy's mother and learns that his old sweetheart is still alive. Can they be reunited after so much time has gone by

Originally made for the First Love TV series, this tangled tale of faded fame and unresolved differences is told via a series of bitterly nostalgic flashbacks. Although Nicholas Gecks is now a priest and James Aubrey a teacher, they were once part of a 1950s rock band. Their rivalry resurfaces as reunion bonhomie is replaced by competition for the attention of single-mother Karen Archer, which has a traumatic effect on her altar boy son. As you'd expect, given that Ray Connolly wrote That'll Be the Day and Stardust, the monochrome memoirs make more impact than the modern-day melodrama.
