Essentially this is your standard anime fare. Group of curvaceous huge eyed women in their early 20s dress in high-tech armour and beat the snot out of rogue Bio-Mechanoid 'Boomers'.

What makes BGC2040 stand out is the above average characterisation and the layered sub plots making this more like an action soap opera. As the Western production houses evolve actors are also being allowed to *gasp* read their script ahead of time and *swoon* prepare a reading of the character. This helps immensely.

BGC2040 gets a little lengthy in the latter episodes but overall this is involving SF hokum that even non-anime fans might get something out of.

The 2nd installment of the KnightSabers, a very good watch to what appears to unfolding into a very good series. If you liked the original you'll love 2040.

As A great fan of the Bubblegum Crash , i was really excited to see this serise on dvd. Boomer , robots with organic bits, are bring infected or are rebelling causing havok. The Police cannot handle them so it is left to the Nightsabers to clean up Tokyo. A MUST for any fan of Anime and Mecha's

Not bad. Prefer Neon Genesis for story effects, animation and overall presence. Some nice moments but generally left feeling a little disappointed.
