Brief synopsis of The Glimmer Man

A string of serial killings in Los Angeles forces the LAPD to call on a specialist from New York: detective Jack Cole, who's dubbed the "Glimmer Man" because he's so fast his targets only see a glimmer of him before they're caught. Teamed up with a reluctant local cop, he uncovers a sinister conspiracy which points to him as the actual killer.

Rating of 2 stars out of 5 Radio Times

Sandwiched between his eco-warrior outings On Deadly Ground and Fire Down Below, this action thriller has Steven Seagal going back to the no-brainer fare that made his name. It's a partial success, but ultimately it lacks the streamlined thrills of his early films thanks to John Gray's unexceptional direction. Here, New Age cop Seagal discovers his murky government past coming back to haunt him as he pursues a serial killer. Keenen Ivory Wayans provides a lively foil as his partner, but Brian Cox, as Seagal's former boss, only succeeds in butchering an American accent again.

Halliwell's Film Guide

Unoriginal and ever-predictable action movie; isn't it time someone thought up a slightly better plot than this paranoid nonsense?

This is most definitely one of Steven Seagal's better movies, we all know he's not the best actor in fact he is a very poor wooden actor and sometimes he seems very uncomptable when he's not doing the action scenes but this movie plays to his strengths and even shows a less serious and very funny Seagal while at the same time giving him a chance to do some kick ass action which he of course does very well. The chemistry between Seagal and Wayans is genuine and they play off each other very well both comically and dramatically.

I would recommend this even if you not Steven Seagal's biggest fan but enjoyed Under Siege give this one a try certainly his best of the rest..

Ive given this one star for effort and that is what watching this movie is....an effort.

Steven Seagal whispers his way through this if Steven Seagal style and that is one of its downfalls. Just too samey (the character played by SS could be any of his previous outings)

Avoid this at all costs, if your after a murder thriller rent Seven and see how its done.

This movie blows!

This was classic Seagal with a bit of comedy. The guy who played his cop buddy was just as good (except without the karate moves), good film. 4 out of 5.

I must admit to having enjoyed this film.OK its not Shakespeare but to most people Shakespeare's a bore. This is the usual mix of action and one liners, its got good pace and enough going on to laugh with it or at it.

Get out the popcorn and remove your brain for a fun night in.
