Brief synopsis of Scream 2

The hip, darkly comical sequel to self-aware "SCREAM." Sidney Prescott, now in college, once again finds herself the target of a bloodthirsty, cloak-clad, mask-wearing, knife-wielding, psychotic killer whose penchant for pop movie trivia runs deep. This time, however, the body count is higher and the deaths more outrageous--traits of a true sequel, as noted by one unfortunate victim. Not as pithy as the first film, but still a satisfying, definite true-to-form teen slasher.

Rating of 1 stars out of 5 Halliwell's Film Guide

Another dose of knowing, self-referential horror movie lore that finally twists back on itself with a killer who claims to have been corrupted by movies; it's very ingenious, but it's still junk.

This film, although not as good as the first still comes up as one of the best films i'v seen. The scene in the theatre at the end has the best scene of the film.

THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE A BORING SEQUEL BUT IT FOLLOWED THE FIRST FILM VERY WELL WITH ENOUGH DIFFERENCE IN THE PLOT TO MAKE IT VERY INTERESTING. kEEPS YOU GUESSING TO THE END.

Rated - 4 starsScream and scream again

RJNeb2 [Highly rated reviewer] , 25/03/2006

A very self-aware and rather cheeky sequel to the 1996 ground-breaker, 'Scream 2' at least has the audacity to admit that it is a sequel and therefore isn't going to be as good. But it makes a pretty fair stab at it. Opening with a deliciously tacky rerun of the original, but with lesser stars in the inevitable movie adaptation, this then proceeds to terrorise Sydney all over again, this time on her college campus. Although probably not as mocking as the first film, it's definitely a white-knuckler with some terrifying setpieces, notably in a soundbooth in a recording studio and in a crashed police car. Deliriously good fun, however, and extremely well done.
