I bought this the other day, thinking it would be a lot different or a lot of new features on the previous title Soul Calibur 4, but with disappointment. If you've played SC4, then this wont be of great pleasure to play unless you are a hardcore fan. With the same basic characters, the main difference is the addition of 2 new ones. Unfortunately there is no 'Arcade' or 'Story' mode to play through a characters storyline, but an entirely different Gauntlet game. This helps a new player get used to all the controls and especially defending those annoying attacks, as you come across every playable character in the game.
The best part of this would be playing Versus mode with some friends or the ever so popular character customisation, as quick mode can get easily frustrating. Great if you want to change the appearances of any character, but alas, less options to change than previous SC titles.
All in all, it's a great game to pick up and play, especially for on the move but will get you bored quite quickly!
