Brief synopsis of If Only

Almost everyone wishes they could have a second chance at love. This charming British romantic comedy, IF ONLY, dares to revel in the fantasy. Douglas Henshall plays Victor Bukowski, an unemployed man distraught over the fact that his beloved ex is about to marry another man. Magically, he is granted the chance to travel back in time and fix the mistakes that led to their breakup. But is history doomed to repeat itself, or can destiny really be changed...

Rating of 3 stars out of 5 Radio Times

In this twentysomething romantic comedy Douglas Henshall stars as the “resting” actor who loses the love of his life, Lena Headey, after a stupid infidelity. Unwittingly encountering a means to turn back time, he returns to the past to try to rectify his mistake. But in spite of strong and convincing performances from Headey, Henshall and the lovely Penélope Cruz the time travel device is a source of weakness and acts as an irritation to an otherwise entertaining movie. Look out for a nice cameo from Elizabeth McGovern.

Curious little comedy about having to live with one's mistakes, which has a certain slight charm.

Very enjoyable, feel good movie. Best watched with a group of friends. We all really enjoyed the twists and turns in the plot. Soundtrack was excellent. Ending was really great. Go on, get the popcorn, unplug the phone and enjoy this one!

Really silly with a meandering plot, this never convinces nor is it really much fun to watch. I don't recommend it.
