'G-Force', the classic 70s animation of 5 teenaged special agents who wear unlikely bird costumes in their fight against evil. This DVD only has 3 episodes which is a bit stingy. It is also not the version that aired on British TV so it can be a bit disorienting. For example, there is no 7-Zark-7, the funny rubbish robot with his pet metal dog who used to tell you what was happening so that the English language versions could be cut to fit shorter time slots. According to other websites, the dubbed dialogue is now more faithful to the original Japanese in this version and because of this it has a more serious sci-fi tone. The characters all have different names too. Princess is called 'Agatha', 'Tiny' is 'Pee-Wee' and Jason is 'Dirk Daring'! Hilarious.G-Force wouldn't be suitable for small children as there are lots of people being killed and scary robots etc but it might be of interest for kids of about 8 years old and for nostalgic adults. It still gave me a thrill when G-Force jumped on each others shoulders and spun to make their giant whirlwind! What a big kid I am.

I had very vague memories of this TV series from when I was a kid. I even remeber some of the toys.Watching this again though was a bit a dissapointing. I didn't make it to the end of the first episode in fact. My main problem was that the first episode started with what felt like a 10 minute music video as a robotic creature attacked somewhere. No characters said anything for the first 10 minutes and the animation seemed very slow compared to other series of that era - such as Thundercats (which I have watched recently and is as good as I remembered from the 80's).
