Rated - 4 starsA well acted drama.

I had no great expectations of this film, but it was a very pleasant surprise. Some excellent acting (and some star cameos from the likes of Bill Pullman). An intriguing story with plenty of twists and turns and everything overlaid with a comedic feel. Even the seediest characters have a pathos which makes you smile and elicit some sympathy.

Bit of a Tarantino / Elmore Leonard wannabe type film this, but if you accept it at face value and dont try to analyse the plot too deeply then you may well enjoy it. Good acting, likeable (though not neccesarily believable) characters, a great soundtrack are among the better points. Excessive use of flashbacks can get a bit tedious, but is probably the only way to make sense of the admittedly thin plot, without having to watch the film several times. Good extras as well. Overall an amusing way to pass a bit of time, just dont expect to be TOTALLY blown away (unlike some of the characters).

Rated - 1 starsVery dull, boring movie.

This was one of the dullest, most boring movies I have watched in a long time. The storyline, script, performances were all dull, dull, dull. The highlight of the disc is the pilot episode of CSI, the TV show, that is included in the extras.

This is supposed to be a comedy and has all the qualities that should make it one. But it never takes off, the humour never comes out. Disappointing.
