Brief synopsis of Murphy's Law - Series 1

James Nesbitt (COLD FEET, WAKING NED DEVINE, WILD ABOUT HARRY) stars as a loner undercover cop in this TV series that is highly praised by audiences but had a short-lived run on TV. The series is based novelist Colin Batemas's MURPHY's LAW about the adventures of a maverick cop who is more concerned with his work than he is in having a personal life. This three-disc release includes the pilot of Murphy's Law, plus four episodes: Electric Bill, Manic Monday, Reunion and Kiss And Tell.

James Nesbitt was brilliant in cold feet & even better in Murphy's Law, this is top class drama.

Nesbitt dominates the screen with ease, acting the pants off the competition in this very real, gritty undercover cop drama - the finest television for a long time - Another series please !

Rated - 5 starsMurphy makes merry mayhem

This is an excellent drama series, well acted by its central character James Nesbitt playing Murphy, an Irish undercover police officer in the Met who is under threat of dismissal. Nevertheless a job comes along which requires Murphy’s special talents, thus starting a roller coaster ride that welds the viewer to the screen.

Each episode is crafted with professional skill that is worth every penny of the TV Licence Fee and twists the plot with clues and red herrings. Will Murphy’s superiors trust him and let him get on with it or will they butt in and put him and the solution of the enigma at risk?

I can recommend this series to anyone who enjoys Drama with attitude and charisma.

Well worth the money!

This is a classic example of James Nesbitt at his best. Playing a heavy drinking undercover cop he proves that he can turn his hand to drama as well as be extremely funny.
