Timecop on DVD (1994)
RelatedCritics ReviewsEvening all. What's all this then — two Jean-Claude Van Dammes for the price of one? Yes, the Muscles from Brussels encounters his younger self — and sports a silly hairdo — when he's sent back in time to catch a sinister senator who is trying to change the past for his own monetary ends. If you can follow the time-travel logic, which everyone seems to be making up as they go along, then director Peter Hyams's gleaming comic-strip action adventure is dumb fun, with good old Jean-Claude causing as much futuristic Van Dammage as possible. However, most sci-fi fans will find it desperately outdated. Best exchange — Jean-Claude: He read my mind. Jean-Claude's wife: With your English, I'm not surprised. Entertainment Weekly "...Van Damme pulls off some novel stunts -- his midair split will have you hitting the slow-motion button..." -- Rating: B+ New York Times "...It's hard not to enjoy [Van Damme's] energy....[He] seems to get better all the time..."
