Rated - 5 starsSequel goes wher eother sequel fears to tread!

In Gremlins, Joe Dante filmed a rather sadistically chaotic take on a childrens movie. But where the first movie was wrapped in a neat morality tale, this sequel just goes all out in mercilessly destroying the original films fan base, and creating an 'Anything goes' attitude. More a collection of sketches than a film, it takes pot shots at the popularity and consumerism of the first film, mixed in with screwball humour. As evidenced in the commentary on the R1 disc, Dante says that they only made Gremlins 2 just to make sure that Gremlins 3 never got made. Hilarious!

This is more of a laugh then the first part, but it is good to watch after a while if you've seen it already.

Rated - 3 starsNot a Patch on the original

sakuraba1982 from Dover , 27/11/2007

Gremlins when it was released was a masterpiece , i believe i read somewhere that the director of gremlins 2 made the film so that gremlins 3 would never be made. This film runs like dozens of mini sketches patched together like a rather large patchwork quilt.

Most of it is rather funny but after the first one this should have been so much better, It was nice to see several of the returning cast reprising thier roles from the original roles.

So if you can forget the first one this one is at least worth one watch
