Brief synopsis of Bring It On Again

Following in the choreographed steps of 2000's 'Bring It On' this feel-good college movie sequel follows California State University Freshman, Whittier (Anne Judson-Yager), in her roller-coaster first year away from home.
College turns out to be pretty far removed from high school and despite making some really good friendships Whittier decides to join the cheerleading squad. Almost overnight she's a campus sensation but as her popularity grows with the in-crowd she realises she has been neglecting the people that really care about her. When Tina, the snobby, fascistic head of the cheerleading squad realises where Whittier's allegiances lie Whittier is fired from the team, crushing her hopes of performing at the National Cheerleading Championship. But with a rabble of campus misfits willing to help her out in any way they can, Whittier discovers that her hopes of representing her college at the Championship may not be lost after all.

Storywise, this sequel to 2000?s hit Bring It On has nothing to do with its predecessor, save for the running theme that cheerleading squads deserve as much respect as, say, a school?s football team.

Happily, Bring It On Again plays exactly as a movie about cheerleading should. It?s funny, loud and even slightly mocking of its subject. (It would be hard to find a movie that employs the phrase ?bomb diggity? so frequently?and anyone who might be confused by what bomb diggity means shouldn?t even pick this one up.)

Like its predecessor, Bring It On Again has plenty of acrobatic dance numbers and young things in skimpy outfits (the cast brings considerable exuberance to all the proceedings). And, of course, there?s a cheer-off finale in which teams vie for a national title.

Bring It On Again should click with its target audience: fans of the first movie and those who have sparked the cheerleading movie movement of the past few years.

Rated - 1 starsBrrrr - it's cold in here....

A customer from Liverpool, England , 05/09/2004

I was really looking fwd to this movie - as the original was class. Funny sexy smart and original. This film however was tripe.

The plot was gossamer thin, the characters were unbelievably vague and even the 'exciting?cheer routines left me begging for less.

Only rent it if you are a massochist. If you're a fan of the first and would like your memories of it untarnished - avoid!

This is the Grease 2 of sequels.

absolute rubbish, as a big fan of the original i was excited to hear of a sequel. so what if it was straight to DVD, I liked childsplay 3. the only similairities this piece of dirge has with the original is that it involves cheerleading. this film is very much in the american pie vein, but far less funnier & choreography, jeez, i could body-pop out of a straight jacket far more gracefully than the 'stars' of this film. do yourself a favour, get the original & whilst your at it, get 10 things i hate about you & clueless. proper teen fodder

This is a great feel good film. The film is lighthearted but totally watchable without straining any brain cells.

Get this out and have a warm fuzzy feeling moment.
