Rated - 4 starssix feet under......HBO we love you.

A customer from London England , 12/08/2006

This is the only thing that consoles us now that West Wing has ended......it starts slow, but once you've got over the lugubrious backdrop and the demise which precedes every episode with greater or lesser cringeworthiness, this is highly enjoyable. It has everything we want from a series......great character development, good dialogue, excellent acting, and humour alongside some occasionally serious issues.....and a smattering of challenge to the stereotypical TV fare....regretfully we can award no more than 4 stars - 5 can go only to Sopranos and West Wing.......but nevertheless a rare chance to enjoy rarely-found light and shade in TV character writing, and piquant - if occasionally predictable -storylines.

Rated - 5 starsFrightened US TV networks take heed...

team@quizcube.com from Darlington, UK , 07/07/2004

I can't rate this show highly enough. In the bland, frightened, and too too conservative world of US TV, this is a tiny black pearl that shines out from the unchallenging pap that surrounds it.

And the term 'black pearl' is chosen with care. It lustily attacks taboo subjects like death, homosexuality, mental illness and drug taking with a wry eye, biting scripts and plenty of laugh-out-loud black humour.

Creator and guiding light Alan Ball wrote the multi-award winning movie 'American Beauty'. If you liked that movie's black edge, you'll love Six Feet Under.

Hurrah for the execs at HBO who put their necks on the line. They recognised that we only go around one time, and you should make some decisions in life that your rightly proud of.

Rated - 5 starsExcellent

I have waxed lyrical about 6 Feet Under every time I write a review - it is hard not too.

Acting of the highest order with sensitive dialogue - married to well drawn characters - fabulous music and slightly sureal settings - gives you something which will make you smile, laugh, cry and wonder...

This is HBO at it's very finest. It is worth subscribing just for this series.

Life, Love, Death, embalming fluid, neuroses, black humour, real tragedy.

This is quite simply the greatest television drama ever made.
