Brief synopsis of Ring Of Steel

An accidental killing changes Olympic hopeful Alex Freyers' life after he wins a duel and is showered with money and seduction from the club's manager. Unaware of the deadly stakes, he discovers the club's dark secret and becomes entangled into a savage web where he is forced to confront the ring's psychotic champion in mortal combat.

A disgraced fencing champion joins an illegal sword-fighting club that calls itself the Ring of Steel. Lots of fights follow and the champion finds out that the Ring exacts a price from its combatants that's too high to pay. The plot is simple and fairly compelling, even if much of the acting is sub-par. A touch of surrealism is added to the proceedings by the casting of beefy Joe Don Baker as the Man in Black, who runs the whole show. In a couple of early scenes, Baker seems to be putting on a European accent, but happily he drops it later on.
