Rated - 5 starsBARBRA STREISAND - The best ever A Star Is Born version

Thander Easton from London, England , 18/02/2005

The talented Barbra Streisand shows us here a full rock concert where her powerful voice and contagious stage presence deliver emotion and admiration. You'll be dragged into the world of pop rock music like any other musical. Great performances, beautifully directed and amazing songs.

A good story, good acting from both leads and the beautiful ballad 'Evergreen' was composed and sung by the multi-talented Barbra Streisand, who won her second Oscar for 'Best Original Song'.

Rated - 4 starssaw it at cinema

A customer from Birmingham , 22/11/2008

ok, well the DVD cannot be reviewed sadly - but I saw this at the cinema when it came out, and would love to be able to rent the DVD.

It's one of my all-time favourite films, because of the passion in song and acting that Barbra Streisand brings to it...

I also like Kris Kristofferson's performance in it.

The film can be sad and poignant, but joyful too.

I was confused by a previous review that seemed to indicate it was the film of a rock concert - yes there are clips of concerts in it that the stars in the film sing at, and I think one clip was a real life clip, but it is a story, as someone else said...mainly a love story..

and it's based on an old 1940's film, I think, that starred James Mason.
