I remember seeing this film quite some time ago and it still rates as one of my favourite Beardy movies. Just watching this guy move is impressive enough, but to top it off he has had no formal martial arts training!!!!

Rated - 5 starsRevenge, Betrayal, A Kung Fu Classic.

This is one of those lost classics in Hong Kong cinema. A story of revenge, family fued and betrayal... all this and some funny light touches added by the very talented director and co-star Sammo Hung. The criminally underrated Beardy (Leung Kar-yun) is on top form as the man who desperately wants revenge, but needs a push to do it. I won't say any more about the plot (Yes! There is one.) as it unfolds with each scene as any good story should. Needless to say this is more than your average action chop socky revenge flick.

The fights get better as the film progresses with some excellent doubling done by Yuen Biao in the final scenes. Yuen was the fight choreographer for much of this movie helping out his good friend Sammo Hung.

If you are a fan of this genre I recommend you track this down if you have not already seen it. I am a big fan of Sammo's work. Now I am looking for more Beardy action too.

Rated - 4 starsexactly what you'd expect

A typical Sammo film, with great choreography, slapstick comedy & the thundering mntis himself, Beardy, thrown in for good measure. There's a major flaw in the plot, ie the twist is so twisted that it's actually impossible... oh well, in the kung fu world these things do happen! good solid sammo fun, before the days of wires, one of his best films

It is a shame that there is only a 5 star rating as this deserves more. A story of revenge, family fued and betrayal.... all this and some funny light touches added by the very talented director and co-star Sammo Hung. Beardy (Leung Kar Yun) is on top form as the man who despearately wants revenge, but needs a push to do it. I won't say any more about the plot (Yes, there is one!) as it unfolds with each scene as any good story should. Needless to say this is more than your average action chop socky flick.

The fights get better as the film progresses with some excellent stunt and acrobatic doubling done by Yuen Biao in the final fight. If you are a fan of this genre this is a true must see film. If you are just an occasional viewer of this art form I recommend you make this one to watch. I am a big fan of Sammo's work. Now I am looking for more Beardy action too.

I rate this as a 6 out of 5........
