Rated - 5 starsMurder 1 Murdered Them All!

If you have never seen this series from the 90's then rent it now!

Twists, turns, shocks this is the original 24 genre before Jack Bauer was even a twinkle in the writers eye.

Daniel Banzali as Ted Hoffman gives the performance of his career with excellent supporting cast. Wish i could give it 6 stars.

Rated - 4 starsSuperb!

I've waited 10 years to watch this series again and it's every bit as good as I remember.

All the main performances are excellent, but the two lead actors (Daniel Benzali & Stanley Tucci) are mesmerising, particularly Benzali. He can be a loving family man, a warm and caring colleague/employer and a hard-as-nails attorney and he's a joy to watch. Tucci is also excellent as a charming man playing games; you just know he's not what he appears to be.

The pace and plot developments are just right and not so complex or unbelievable that you lose track of who's who and what's going on. Always enough to keep you wanting more though!

I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoyed 24 or legal dramas.

Rated - 4 starsAs great as I remembered?

A customer from UK , 09/10/2005

I remember that when Murder One was first on TV I thought it was one of the greatest TV shows I'd ever seen - almost on a par with Hill Street Blues (also from Steven Bochco). Revisited, it's very good indeed - but not quite great. Daniel Benzali is extraordinarily imposing as brilliant lawyer Ted Hoffman, but a bit one-note and he never makes a mistake. The crime is as serpentine as I remembered, and halfway through my re-viewing I still cannot remember or work out whodunnit. Jason Gedrick is so good as the troubled film star charged with murder that you wonder what happened to his career. I'd forgotten the ever annoying Mrs Bochco, Barbara Bosson, was in it. Also, I'd forgotten how rubbish the bits with Hoffman's wife are. The part's played by Patricia Clarkson, and all she ever does is toss salad, light candles and be incredibly understanding when her man has to work late. Does this woman not have her own career?

So: extremely good, fantastic theme music, but not as great as I'd remembered.

Rated - 4 starsLong, but interesting

A customer from London , 08/11/2007

This murder case stretches across 25 episodes, but it does keep you guessing. It is a typical US law series to a certain extent, but is slightly more focussed on the crime and evidence as opposed to who is seeing who! Worth watching but you need patience if you are desperate to find out who dunnit!
