Rated - 5 starsFabulous and disturbing true story

Just for the record,I am unaware of this being available on dvd in the UK but I bought it on dvd in the US a couple of year ago.

The story is based on the true events surrounding serial killer John wayne Gacy who sexually tortured, raped and murdered 30 odd teenage boys.

Brian Dennehy is tremendous and plays probably the bst role I have ever seen him take. Really sends shivers down the spine as the perverted and creepy Gacy who cant get enough of the boys that work for his construction company.

I dont want to spoil it but lets say it starts with one boy's disappearance and steadily the cops uncover clues about more missing boys up to the shocking conclusion. Be prepared tho as it is about 3 hours long. Just for the record, when they executed him,his last words were 'Kiss my ass'.

I saw this film on VHS about 5 years ago, and have been trying to find it ever since. Brian Dennehy's best performance to date, playing the infamous mass serial killer - John Wayne Gacy. If you like true crime, you'll love this film!

Rated - 3 starsWorth a look

It's one of those films you watch by accident. I think I saw it on TV some time in the mid 90's. As a film, it's a made for TV movie that I think was show in 2 parts over 2 nights. It looks quite cheap and I'd heard of no one in it except for Brian Denehey. The story is by the numbers for any TV movie really and I can't say I cared for any of the characters, but Dennehey's portrail of John Wayne Gacy is particually haunting and just about manages to hold the film together, so much so that I watched the film again some years later. He's no Anthony Hopkins in SOTL, but there's something about the character that stays with you and gives you a glimpse into the world of one of America's worstl serial killers. 3 stars is a bit generous, but 2 is too cruel, so 2.5 I reckon is fair..
