This is an excellent film of Dickins well known story.Peter Ustinov is as usual superb, but the star of the film by a long way is Tom Courtnay, who puts in a fantastic performance.

Rated - 2 starsDickens a la Disney!

This is Dickens given the Disney treatment and it just doesn't work. It's completely lost the feeling of the novel and is far too colourful. It is a typical example of movie Victoriana with no attention to the true nature of the period. Avoid this and rent the 1979 BBC version.
