Critics Reviews

Rating of 5 stars out of 5 Radio Times

Robin Williams's vocal performance as the Genie steals the show in this beautifully constructed Disney animation, his ad-libbing a perfect match for the wonderful visuals. Kids will be enchanted by the captivating Arabian Nights tale, in which street urchin Aladdin (voiced by Scott Weinger) uses a magical oil lamp and its wish-granting genie to win the love of Princess Jasmine (Linda Larkin, Lea Salonga singing) and defeat the evil Jafar (Jonathan Freeman). There's plenty for adults to enjoy, too, particularly the film's delightful songs and numerous sophisticated references. In the end, though, it's Williams's movie.

Rated - 2 starsKids will like the interactive stuff

f1mo from Greater London , 07/11/2004

This disc features the making of Aladdin, showing the original concepts, music creation, etc...

I doubt young kids will find this enticing enough for them to sit and watch all of this, instead they may be more interested in the interactive parts of this DVD.

Robin William's character of the genie is hilarious!! This is Disney at it's best... visually appealing films for kids and adults alike. The songs are fantastic too, you'll find yourself singing along in no time! Highly recommend if you like your disney classics.

Rated - 5 starsA film for the child in all of us

A customer from cardiff,wales , 21/03/2005

This is a film everyone should see before they die. It is classic disney and marks the marvelous animation work used before the computer generated world took over. How anyone could, or even want to, over analyse this film is beyond me: its a family film, not a life changing epic!. This is pure entertainment which boasts a performance from Robin Williams which helps prove why he is one of the best actor/comedians in the world today.
