In the nine years separating this sequel from the original, its director has retained his ability to shock but still cannot tell a story convincingly.

Rated - 4 starsGREAT SEQUEL!

If you liked the original Phantasm, you'll love this. It's not very often that a sequel is as good as it's original, but they've managed to do it with this. If you don't like gore then you will be looking away for most parts of the film, but don't let this put you off, It's still a great movie. Watch this!

Rated - 2 starsMore of the same

A customer from Cambridge , 02/01/2007

I recently rewatched the original PHANTASM, and was rather disappointed with it after warmly remembering it from my teenage years. I decided to watch this follow up, made many years after the original, to see if any polish had been added. The good news is that it WAS a more polished offering, but sadly the plot was virtually identical to the original, even down to the sequencing of most events. Plus desperately hammy acting, and a forgettable scowling turn by the overrated Angus Scrimm who looks like he's standing on a box in most of the scenes. Overall? Mildly entertaining but pretty lame stuff!
