Billy Connolly - World Tour Of Australia on DVD (1996)

Follows a similar format to the original Scottish Tour. Very funny concert footage, fantastic scenery, interesting stories about Australia's history and a once over of the tourist spots.

However why does he choose to ram all the art down people's throats. Sorry but I'm not interested to see paintings by some guy who lives on a beach with his dog. His paintings can only be described as hideous. Similar in style to a 5 year old child. Every episode ends this way.

I'm old enough to remember when BC was funny, but the 'comedy' in these DVDs is just lazy - 'f-off' rather than anything else. It's a shame - because he is bright and funny. My main reason for renting these DVDs was to see Australia through his eyes - but that too was lazy, not at all thought out - too many 'here's me on the way to the gig' moments. Too many 'here's me on top of something'.

A fun but occasional serious look at Australia. Billy's brand of humour made this journey most enjoyable. At times the clips from his various concerts reduced me to tears. If you like Billy this is a must see.

Not only are we treated to Billy's own unique brand of humour on the tour, but there's so many of the sights and wonderful features from places which many of us will never have the privilege or opportunity to be able see ... not to be missed
