Rating of 2 stars out of 5 Radio Times

Overlong and poorly shot concert film of Eddie Murphy's one-man show. He may be a phenomenon as a movie star, but his stand-up routine leaves much to be desired — a foul-mouthed concoction trading on racial and sexual stereotypes that effortlessly offends majority tastes. Murphy's frenetic energy and virtual non-stop delivery is impressive, though, and his comic imitation of Bill Cosby is inspired. Directed by Hollywood Shuffle's Robert Townsend, this is for die-hard Murphy fans only. Watch out for an uproarious fictional prologue set in a 1960s Murphy household.

Hilarious, despite first appearing on the big screen it 1987 'Raw'has not aged that badly and Eddie Murphy is on excellent form.

If you haven't seen this before and are broad minded then WATCH THIS DVD as I am positive YOU WILL LAUGH.

It is a shame that a lot more of his stand up acts (pre Beverly Hills Cop) were not recorded and I hope that the 'Delerious' concert is also released on DVD as I remember that being even funnier.

Rated - 4 starseddie at his best

Qaes Mujawar from London , 11/12/2004

this is without a doubt eddie murphy at his best. he is incredibly funny doing stand up and had me in stitches throughout the show ( especially the Rocky gag ).

this brings back memories of when eddie was funny ( beverly hills cop, coming to america )and makes you forget that he did films like pluto nash and nutty professor 2.

if you like old school eddie murphy, youll love this.

Rated - 4 starsStill Brilliant

A customer from Manchester , 01/02/2005

This beats most comedians around today. Had me in stitches...not an easy thing to do. Kept me laughing until last 10 minutes where he went off on a tangient - hence the 4 stars - otherwise absolutely bloody brilliant and I will recommend to friends.

Rated - 1 starsDisappointed

uhhuh from London , 24/04/2005

Being a big fan of Richard Pryor and having liked many of Eddie Murphy's movies, I was disappointed by this show.

The jokes were not very funny, and instead Eddie relied on impersonations, expletives and easy targets.

Stick to his movies, and avoid disappointment.
