Brief synopsis of Ninja Scroll

Feudal Japan: a time of danger, intrigue and deception. Jubei is a masterless ninja, a ronin who travels the land alone, selling his services to those with gold or a worthy cause. His fearsome abilities have served him well, but a hideous plot to overthrow the government threatens to end his wandering ways and possibly his life. When a small village succumbs to a terrible plague, a team of ninjas are sent to investigate and realize that all is not as it seems...

Rated - 4 starsA true Manga Classic

This is a true Manga Classic and when you watch now it seems amazing that this a purely hand animated movie made over 10 years ago. The story is excellent and the fight scenes are beautifully executed. People often think of Akira when talking about Manga classics, but this is an equally wonderful film. I feel that the animated sex scenes are unecessary but Manga animatord will be Manga animators.

So see this timeless animated classic and enjoy animation as it should be.

Rated - 1 starsTrash Hentai

Fine if you want animated porn. But why would anybody? Story ridiculous, artwork uninspired, ludicrous violence, characters have no depth - that's the better points. Some little boys will giggle and tell their friends all the gory details but those of us even remotely grown up are best giving it a wide bearth. Great anime is one of the finest things in the world. There has to be a bottom of the heap though and this is pretty near there.

Rated - 2 starsTosh...

A customer from England , 18/10/2007

I'd wanted to see this for about ten years, after I caught a few minutes on late night Sky before being shuffled off to bed. I'm a pretty big anime fan too, I love the entire Evangelion series and films like Princess Mononoke and even the Street Fighter 2 anime. So I was excited to see Ninja Scroll...

What a disappointment. Ridiculously excessive violence, absurd leaps in logic and plot, and it's incredibly vulgar in terms of sex - I'm not a prude or anything but some of that stuff is sick. Not worth the time.
