Thid dvd is in fact the same as vol 2 disc one.The only difference is this disc has 5.1 sound instead of 2.1.So if you rent vol 2 disc 1 don,t bother renting disc 2 as it,s exactly the same.

Rated - 3 starsVeers slightly off track but keeps it going

Episodes 1-4 were a great start to the Ghost in the Shell mini-series franchise featuring Section 9. Episodes 5-8 start strong where 1-4 left off. The special cyber-crime task force led by major Major Kusanagi continue their hunt for 'laughing man'. This is followed by two weaker stand alone episodes. Lets hope 6-10 are a return to form.

Rated - 3 starsMuch better than the first set but stillroom for improvement

This volume progresses from the original series of semi-cyborg secret agents protecting the public from the various evils of the world. The two episodes about the Laughing Man are really good, as these involve some depth in the storyline. The other two episodes are pretty disapointing as they're clearly filler episodes but do little else than just keep you watching. There is a lack of character development here as you barely get to know the history of anybody in there, even the main lead.

I look forward to the third volume whenever it comes through my postbox.

Rated - 4 starsGood follow on!

Watched the film, then found out that their was a mini-series attached to it. A bit of a fib with the CGI introduction, but hey, what do you expect from a mini-series. Episodes 5-8 didnt appear to be as gripping as 1-4, but still very good animation, and the plot kept me happy. Hope there is more!
