An obsessive detective helps crack difficult cases with the help of his nurse.

A highly original crime fighting series. Not only are the puzzles worth a watch for their cleverness, the real genius of the programme comes from the central character Monk and his regular group of supporting players. Some situations which Monk ends up in are hysterically funny, but also watch out for the subtle little touches of humour which at times are brilliant. If you like clever humour but always family entertainment watch Monk.I have given it 6 out of 7 due to the great acting and clever writing, and it makes you laugh out loud

This series is unknown to everyone I have spoken too, a big hit over in the states however. This is a superbly written series, great acting from the cast, and it is wonderful to see how Monk solves each and every crime.

monk is all about an ex-detective, suspended after his wife was brutally murdered and he suffered a break down. he's now got obsessive compulsive disorder, which actually helps him with his cases, as he can notice things others miss. anyway, if you like things like columbo and murder she wrote, this is for you, a very enjoyable comedy/ crime series
