A great reworking of a classic programme. Unmissable.

Rated - 4 starsBattlestar started off as a snuff film (4.5 stars)

Finally the've put philosophical intelligence back into science fiction - and it's been a while. Excellent casting, sterling performances, stunning visuals, a cryptic plot, and good chemistry between the characters, sets this version of Battleship Galactica light years ahead of its predecessor. The more you watch the more you are drawn in. The robots are scarier - humanities plight more precarious - and the episodes are all part of a grander scheme - this is compulsory viewing - particularly for space buffs.

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK OUT THE MINI SERIES BEFORE YOU WATCH THESE. I watched disc 1 before watching the mini series and it was very confusing. I went back and watched the mini series and then continued at disc 2 and it was really great.

Rated - 5 starsExpected the worst but now im hooked

I stumbled across this remake of the old series and was hit by pangs of nostalgia. Unlike many attempted remakes or spin-offs which have failed so spectacularly, this one pulls it off.

There are a few cosmetic changes to the Cylons and Galactica crew which took some getting used to but this is definitely a hit - I cant wait for the next installment to arrive.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO RENT 'BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, THE MINI SERIES' AS SEASON 1 FOLLOWS ON DIRECTLY FROM THAT DISK.

Rated - 5 starsGalactical awesomeness

Martin Doran from London, UK , 07/08/2005

This is probably the most engrossing sci-fi series you could ever watch - the story (well you already know what the jist of it is - cylons overrun the twelve colonies of Cobol & the survivors have to try & find the 13th.... Earth) is well told, but it is the way the characters are - seems to really look into the human condition (& the cylon too) - I found this utterly captivating, the fx & drama are all there & I cannot wait for the next installment - the final episodes provide such a cliff-hanger. If sci-fi's your bag (& even if it isn't) you will NOT be disapointed with BSG....make it your no.1 today!!!!!!!

I was blown away by this show. What I love about it is although its science fiction it has a real feeling to it. None of the characters are over the top they all feel believable.

Even the political side works.

Its a top show and I totally recommend it even if you aren't into SCI-FI usually. Although recommend you watch Battlestar Galactica the Mini series first to understand whats happening.
