a great film to give you a giggle if your saturday night involves sitting in, and if you like this type of irish humour two more hilarious films are, the snapper, and the follow up the van, extremely funny but do check if they where ever released on dvd because they probably released around 1990, if you can get them definetly worth the watching.

for a low budget british film it realy is worth renting. Funny and lighthearted with a good easy going story, one of the easiest films to watch and had me laughing out loud

Rated - 2 starsA bit of the crack, but.

Relying heavily on the same ramshackle charm (and some of the same plotting) which drove Paddy Breathnach's earlier (and considerably superior) 'I went down', this daft comedy provides fitful entertainment, raucous laughs, a completely unbelievable plot, some very uncertain characterisation and, best of all, a view of Ireland which we don't always see.

The plot has three lads trying to get £50,000 together to pay off a threatening bookie, and hoping to use a greyhound south of the border to do it. They all end up at the hare-coursing championships in Clonmel, at which point the film takes on most of the cliches of the sports movie, and the plot just falls apart.

It remains lightly diverting, though, and played with sufficient panache to see it through.
