Brief synopsis of View To A Kill

James Bond (Roger Moore) must foil the plot of a diabolical scientist trying to control the world computer market by destroying California's Silicon Valley. Christopher Walken is entertaining to watch as the evil madman; the film also features the trademark Bond bevy of beauties, including Tanya Roberts and Grace Jones. A VIEW TO A KILL features a title song by Duran Duran and marks the last time Moore would play Bond.

Rating of 2 stars out of 5 Radio Times

Roger Moore stars as 007 for the seventh and final time in this below-average Bond movie. His smoothness is now a bit tired, but there's still some action and excitement to be had. The baddies are headed by Christopher Walken and his accomplice, girlfriend Grace Jones, and, while both can look pretty scary, you don't get the impression that they're particularly evil. Patrick Macnee, of TV's The Avengers fame, fares a lot better as Bond's right-hand man, and Tanya Roberts does what Bond girls do pretty well. But the plot doesn't really convince, perhaps because we've seen it or something similar so many times before.

Rated - 4 starsA view of 80's nostalgia

Peter from London , 21/05/2004

The most unfortunate problem for a View to a Kill is that the plot just doesn't seem believable in today's world. It's not the same as looking back on the Soviet films which you can relate to - this just seems a bit surreal.

That said any film with Patrick Macnee, Christopher Walken and Grace Jones is always good and the psychotic Jeckyll and Hyde character of Zorin suits Walken perfectly. The skiing in the opening credit sequence is fantastic (the original Bond Snowboard scene). Perfect for a bit of 80's reminiscence one evening.

The DVD has an interesting 'The Making of...' documentary with interviews with the cast, John Glen and Cubby Broccoli.

Roger Moore's final outing as bond is seen by many to be one of the worst bond films but it does have many good points. Despite moore clearly being to old for the role by this stage he is still very entertaining and some of his scenes with Pat mcnee are amusing. Tanya Roberts is awful and Grace Jones is on a different planet to us all but the film is still very watchable. The best thing about this dvd release is the extras. You get all the trailers and a full 30 min documentary on the making of the film. Its even got the very badly dated music video "view to a kill".Quality.

Rated - 5 starsBest Bond Movie And Best Bond Actor!

A customer from North VVest , 25/01/2007

This is the best Bond film with the best Bond actor - Roger Moore. In this film he stop's Christopher Walken's character Zorin from taking out thousands of people in order to corner the worlds microchip market.

Forget Casino Royale, get a load of View To A Kill Instead. It maybe cheesey but it's great.
