Not even Jet Li combined with above average production values and at times beautiful cinematography can compensate for the annoying over use of wire work and confused storyline of this action fantasy.

If you want to see Jet Li and Tsui Hark at their combined best rent 'Once Upon A Time In China' instead.

Better than the first sequel, but undermind by the poor script; it could've been better.

The only thing good about this first sequel to the far superior 'The Swordsman' is the fact that Jet Li takes over in the lead role. Very flashy action and some gory special effects cannot hide the fact that this is just average stuff at best.

Oh Jet, I mourn for the days of Shaolin Temple when your kung-fu skills were unsupassed. What has become of you? AVOID AT ALL COSTS
