Rated - 5 starsAll that matters to me now is Jenny

thegrimphantasmfear from London , 19/03/2004

Don't be fooled by the bloodshed of this movie; the abiding message of Commando is that love- not stomach-turning violence- is the most powerful force on earth. The scores upon scores of evil henchmen to which Arnie lays waste are merely sacrifices, laid down on an alter of love for his daughter, his dear Jenny.

Mark L. Lester was fortunate to have such an emotionally honest actor as Mr Schwarzenegger, though acting seems an inadequate term for what really amounts to a vivisection of the human heart in all its stunning complexity. Consistently elegant, occasionally breath-taking, Commando is surely the one truly convincing love-story to emerge from the troubled 20th Century.

Rated - 5 starsSheds are a dangerous place

A customer from trying to scale the wall at the enemy strong hold , 25/05/2004

Where to begin, ah I know. After infiltrating the enemy base armed to the teeth, our hero looking for cover hides in a shed! the goons quickly surround the 'stronghold' and let rip with their ak-47's. But this is no ordinary shed, oh no, for inside is all manner of sharp objects and as quick as a flash arnie is out impaling the hired help. This film is genius, from the comedy aussie leather clad bad guy to the guards who love nothing better than running straight into arnie's big gun. They just don't make films like this any more. Bring back the eighties and heroes with names like Matrix, Dutch...etc

Rated - 4 starsWelcome back John, so glad you could make it.

Stephen Booth from UK , 27/05/2006

Love him or loathe him, this is the quintessential Arnie movie. Big on guns, explosions, chainmail vests and repressed homosexuality, small on brains; Commando is almost the perfect action movie. They don't make 'em like this anymore, more's the pity. A genre classic that both Arnie nuts and action nuts will love. Everyone else should probably think twice.

Arnie's second big movie after The Terminator (we can ignore Hercules). Corny but macho fun. Worthing Watching if you like 80s action movies.
