Carry On Cabby on DVD (1963)
RelatedCritics ReviewsProving a fare's a fare in love and war, the best of the black-and-white Carry Ons began life as a script by the then little known Talbot Rothwell entitled Call Me a Cab. Having just parted company with regular scriptwriter Norman Hudis, producer Peter Rogers brought Rothwell into the fold and he went on to pen the next 19 films in the series. Pitting Sid James against the long-suffering Hattie Jacques, the battle between Speedee Taxis and Glamcabs is packed with hilarious incidents and cracking performances, not least from Kenneth Connor and Esma Cannon as the respective loyal lieutenants and Charles Hawtrey as the hapless Pint-Pot.
A deft farcical battle of the sexes. Members ReviewsReviews Voted Most HelpfulMost Recent Reviews |
