Rated - 4 starsThe Complete Series

This is the Complete Series of Point Pleasant and includes all 13 episodes made of the show. The last few episodes are currently being shown on E4 (the ones that weren't shown previously) and we kind of get a resolution to the story. Obviously this series was meant to go on a lot longer than these 13 episodes and was cancelled at this point in the US so there are many loose ends tied up but at least this boxset gives us the complete story up to that point.

A great idea (the anti-christ, in the form of a beautiful teenage girl who doesn't know who she is, washes up in a small god fearing town) sits at the heart of this show, which only made it to episode 13 before being canned. Sadly the execution is fumbled. It is at once filled with pointless digressions and rushing towards a rather unearned climax.

The cast is pretty, but largely vacant; aside from Clare Carey, who is effective as the devout Sarah Parker and Grant Show, flamboyantly evil as Lucas Boyd. It's a crying shame really as this, coming frrom Buffy's Marti Noxon, ought to be great, but it falls at just about every hurdle.

Rated - 5 starsSomething a bit different

A customer from Andover , 29/04/2006

I caught 1 episode of this on a sunday afternoon on tv so decided to get the series. I've not been disappointed, it's really great viewing as you keep wanting to watch another episode where it leaves you on a cliffhanger

Something a little bit different from the usual US teen scene series, it really kept me wanting to watch more. Highly recommended
