Brief synopsis of The Point Men

After botching a mission to kill Palestinian terrorist Amar (Vincent Regan), Israeli secret service agent Tony Eckhardt (Christopher Lamber) and his team are demoted and become an embarrassment to their agency. Eckhardt becomes convinced that the operation failed due to a trap set by Amar. When his fellow team members begin dying one-by-one under suspicious circumstances, Eckhardt must make his own plans to handle the situation.

After overseeing Roger Moore?s final James Bond appearances and Timothy Dalton?s only two 007 contributions, the work all but dried up for John Glen in the 1990s. The Point Men finds him back in the director?s chair, but even he can?t bring much fizz to this tame action thriller. Christopher Lambert is the disgraced Israeli secret agent called back into action when members of his old team start getting bumped off by an old adversary, terrorist Vincent Regan. Former Bond girl Maryam D?Abo pops up in a supporting role, although the real eye-opener in the cast is the presence of New Zealand actress Kerry Fox, who's best known for her art house roles in films such as An Angel at My Table and Intimacy.

It was great to see so many british actors, but the film was spoilt by the heavy use of background music. Could not hear the dialogue properly.

story OK, but low rating because enjoyment was spoilt by above problem.

I read the review about this film stating that it was just not representative of the politics of the region and thought well to be honest your a bit dumb as its an action film.

unfortunately the film has a poor storyline... not unknown in action films.. and similarly very poor acting.. also familiar to the genre, however, while the negatives are frequent i struggle to find many positive things to say about this film. Past the time i suppose and doesnt really offend but id suggest finding another way to spend your time.

Any one who has an interest in the Palestinian/Israeli conflict will be ultra disappointed - you can't use the region as a backdrop for a thriller unless you have a slightly more than elementary grasp of the passions and the issues. This film has a lazy pap-fodder grasp on both and is an insult to both its audience and those who are its subject matter. Shame.

There seemed to be a lot going on and there was plenty of action, but this film didn't really grab me.
