Rated - 2 starsA Strange Offering

Well this is a strange offering. The story is about David who suspects his wife is having an affair. It's slightly surreal in parts as David imagines conversations with an irate patient. Nothing really happens from beginning to end. Don't expect action. To be honest i found it vague & instantly forgettable.

But saying all that i can't fault the acting. Both the lead roles were well acted & the children were delightful.

Couldn’t get into this. Domestic strife where the Cambell Scott character can’t quite bring himself to asks his wife if she’s having an affair because he’s scared to confront her as doing so would confront himself and their marriage.

I know many people don’t talk about what they’re feeling or thinking but this was just a bit much. Cambell has an imaginary character who he can talk to but this took the film in a psychological direction which sometimes seemed sinister and other times boring. It’s all competently made but I didn’t really care what happened to any of the characters. Would have stopped half way through but it’s an Alan Rudolf film and he deserves an hour and a half of my time.

i really loved this film. It is a gentle, perfectly observed story, beautifully acted.

It is slow but not too much so and a little quirky and surreal.

Rated - 4 starsAm I on my own here?

Not only did I enjoy this film at the time, but it has stayed with me for many weeks.

OK, I won't watch it again, but I might make other like minded film goers watch it. I will always be in love with Cambell Scott, and because of this film have formed a addiction for Denis Leary esp. 'rescue me'.

Sweet little film. Be nice to it!

a well written and original story with good performances from campbell scott and hope davis make this something more than just the usuall tale of a man who believes his life and marraige are beggining to disintergrate.some good humour is infused into the drama as well as the sad spots, worth a look.
