Brief synopsis of She

In this lavish fantasy/adventure three treasure-seekers come across the lost African city of Kura and encounter the all-powerful, immortal Empress Ayesha (Ursula Andress), who dubs one of them the reincarnation of her long-lost love. SHE, which also features Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, is a fun Hammer remake of the H. Rider Haggard tale.

Ursula Andress is destined always to be remembered for her voluptuous performance in the first Bond movie, Dr No. However, she acquits herself better than you might expect in this adaptation of H Rider Haggard's much-filmed fantasy. Indeed, she looks in great shape for a 2,000-year-old queen of a lost kingdom, who is still yearning for the embrace of a lover she killed centuries ago. The African backdrops are easily matched by Swiss-born Andress's own brand of exotic beauty and, while there's plenty to criticise, there's also much to enjoy.

Halliwell's Film Guide

Flat, uninventive and tedious remake which reverts to Africa but does nothing else right; it ignores the essential Cambridge prologue and all suggestions of fantasy.

Saw this as a boy and at the time thought it was the best film I had ever seen - perhaps it was hormonal! Watching it now it does not have the same effect as it seems slow and ponderous and you can't wait for the final scene soon enough.

Like Indiana Jones but good. Pretty much a continuation of the Hammer Mummy films.

Ursula Andress looks great in this movie, one of Hammers best efforts.

A classic action/adventure movie. Our hero finds a woman who was

born in Egypt centuries ago, kept young by a secret Ray from the sky.

He is the reincarnation of her egyptian lover...but it all ends in disaster.

remember seeing this as a child and was interested in watching it again. It pulled no punches, the plot was a little thin, the scenery moved, but all the same we enjoyed it.

It tells the story of one womans obsession to reincarnate her long lost love, who She her herself had murdered in a fit of Jelious rage.

If you do watch this I recomend that you watch the follow up 'Revengence of She'.

But remember it's an old film and the scenery and stunts can look a little fales
