Brief synopsis of The Business

Frankie is a young lad on the run from the high-rise ghetto of South London, to a new life in the Costa Del Sol with nothing but a tin stuffed full of cash in his hand luggage. Having no idea that this delivery of cash, to super-suave playboy and ex-con Charlie will change his life forever, he soon becomes one of the gang, and finds himself drawn into a flamboyant and violent world of organised crime. This is one film that will blow you away…

IF YOUR THIRTY OR OLDER AND LOVE THE 80S AND BRIT GANGSTER TYPE FILMS, THEN THIS IS FOR YOU. THE SOUND TRACK IS BRILLIANT, THE ACTING IS SUPERB AND THE PLOT IS GREAT WITH A LITTLE TWIST AT THE END. ALL IN ALL A GREAT NIGHT IN, JUST TURN UP YOUR SURROUND SOUND, CRACK OPEN A BEER AND ENJOY. I PROMISE YOU, YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Rated - 3 starsGreat 3rd Film From Nick Park

Millsey from Hastings [Highly rated reviewer] , 28/12/2006

After seeing Goodbye Charlie Bright and Football Factory I decided to see The Business.

Its a great film, with an excellent soundtrack, and the acting is equally good.

But the only reason I have only given it 3 stars is, there is nothing new about this film, it follows the exact same pattern as his previous 2 films, but you know what they say, if its not broken......

I totally recommend this film, for Danny Dyer alone, but again Tamer Hassan gives a great performance.

Rated - 3 starsDANNY'S BACK ON TOP FORM

deeboy from LONDON , 24/01/2006

Danny Dyer back in the role which suits him so well...

Funny, good fun, nicely shot, with enough action and intrigue to keep you amused and the retro feel a nice touch...

And you even feel sorry for poor Danny in parts!

Rated - 2 starsIts British and its OK

filmicons from Tyne and Wear , 05/03/2006

As a British crime movie its not Guy Ritchie or McVicar but it starts really well and holds your attention but fizzles out.

It left me a little disappointed but can't say I didn't enjoy the film. Raw talented cast suited the story. Worth a watch because some may love this.

Rated - 1 starsVery Disappointing

JonathanRoss from Salford , 09/03/2006

The films has a promising start, only to go into a predictable storyline of very little substance. The casting and acting is also very poor. I like gangster films but there is nothing new here.

It might have more swearing than Train Spotting and more drugs than Scarface but that's really the only positive things which can be said about this film.

Music, I am a great fan of 80's music but this film had far too much. The music was used to cover the lack of dialogue, however, given the actors inability to deliver a convincing line, this was probably a good thing!

Rated - 2 starsDanny Dyer the only draw

A customer from London, England , 16/01/2007

Danny Dyer - or Moff from Human Traffic - is really the only reason to watch this. He plays the same cheeky cockney that he plays in all his movies and does it well. The gangsters on the Costa theme however is a pale imitation of Sexy Beast. Only OK.
