Brief synopsis of Halloween H2O - Twenty Years Later

Twenty years after the original HALLOWEEN, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), now the headmistress of a Northern California private school under an assumed name, is still struggling with the terrifying memories of the psychotic killer Michael Myers. That horror becomes a reality once again when Michael returns, embarking on a murederous roadtrip from Illinois to California, killing three more people and stealing a victim's car before threatening the lives of Laurie's rebellious son (Josh Hartnett), his girlfriend (Michelle Williams), and the school security guard (LL Cool J). It's up to Laurie to conquer her internal demons and end Michael's evil. And a conveniently placed ax might just help her accomplish the task....

Rating of 3 stars out of 5 Radio Times

John Carpenter's classic 1978 chiller gets a 1990s makeover, although in the hands of director Steve Miner, a veteran of horror franchises such as Friday the 13th and House, the emphasis here is still firmly on frights rather than in-jokes. Jamie Lee Curtis, back in the role that made her name, is now a recovering alcoholic and headteacher at an exclusive boarding school. The problem is her murderous and seemingly indestructible brother is keen to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his first massacre. The older and wiser Curtis steals the show from the teenage TV pin-ups (Third Rock from the Sun star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the now-obligatory “big name” killed off before the opening credits), but Miner's direction is merely efficient, rather than genuinely scary.

Rated - 3 starsThe only worthwhile Halloween sequel

A customer from Manchester , 14/09/2004

The first Halloween is probably my favourite horror movie of all time and, lets be honest, all the other sequals have been garbage.

This movie is the only one which deserves to share the same title.

They should have made the original plus this one and binned all the rest (especially the terrible Resurrection).

this is pretty good, i thought it would be crap but i was nicely surprised, if you havent seen this and are a Halloween fan it is essential viewing, with a nice clever twist in the tale, also if you are not a fan this is an excellent quality horror film that is almost on par with the original.one of the best in the series.
