Brief synopsis of Stella Street - The Complete Third Series

John Sessions and Phil Cornwell star in an assortment of different roles as we return to Stella Street for the entire third series. Following the adventures of a host of A-list Hollywood celebrities, led by Michael Caine, who have all inexplicably decided to move to a quiet suburban street in England, Stella Street is sure to leave you laughing as they struggle to blend the personas of the big screen characters they play into a humdrum English way of life.

Stella Street is one of those series that doesn't grab you immediately, but by the end you are desperately searching for another episode hidden somewhere on the dvd. Phil Cornwell and John Sessions shine in this everyday tale of superstars slumming it in Surbiton, the characters ranging from Michael Caine, Al Pacino, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Marlon Brando...the list goes on! Also included are some of the locals, who are verging on League of Gentleman weirdness.

The adventures on this series culminate in a visit to the seaside, and the Michael Caine character absolutely shines in his desperation for a decent few days to make the death of his cleaning lady happier for her. He is foiled all the way, however, by the utter sadness of his pals (and the violence of Joe Pesci).

However, the standout turn must be David Bowie's audition for a cheesy snacks commercial. You will cry.

Get this out for a few evenings of class, then get whatever else this pair have done - it is truly brilliant!
