Brief synopsis of The Triangle

Billionaire shipping magnate Eric Benirall (Sam Neill) keeps losing ships in the Bermuda Triangle, so he hires a motley band of experts to uncover the mystery that has haunted the Bermuda Triangle for centuries. The team includes Howard Thomas (Eric Stoltz), a tabloid reporter and cynic who only takes the job to help make his alimony payments; Emily Patterson (Catherine Bell), a smart no-nonsense engineer; Stan Lathem (Bruce Davison), a sensitive psychic who intuitively grasps the hidden power of the triangle; Bruce Geller (Michael Rodgers), a thrill-seeking wildman and professor of meteorology; and perhaps most interesting of all, Meeno Paloma (Lou Diamond Phillips), the sole survivor of a wrecked freighter who has returned to discover that reality no longer matches the world he remembers. Produced by Bryan Singer (of X-MEN fame) and with an all-star cast, the thrilling and chilling television miniseries weaves an eerie web of conspiracies and strange possibilities as the characters find themselves swept deeper and deeper into the secrets of the Bermuda Triangle.

Rated - 4 starsA different angle

I thoroughly enjoyed this.

To make it clear, although it is about the Bermuda Triangle, it is not the typical myths and stories you may have heard. This has an original and fascinating approach to the whole myth. Good acting from all, great special effects, but don't let them detract you from the story. It is in three episodes and is quite lengthy. I watched them two one day and one the next. An enjoyable bit of fun or possibility, for the action adventure seekers. Well produced, acted and directed.

Rated - 3 starsWeird but interesting

It starts off with a group of four people set the task of looking at solving what's behind the Bermuda Triangle, but rapidly grows stranger and the characters in the story start to be affected by strange visions and events, some deeply personal.

When they decide to visit the region itself, it's not just supernatural forces they find at work.

But 'the truth' itself is stranger yet...

As the Bermuda Triangle always fascinated me, I thought this would appeal, and having missed it on TV, I am happy to say I made the right decision to rent it. A new angle on the legend and in my opinion, a little disturbing and thought provoking! I eagerly await disc 2 to see the outcome and pray it delivers a worthy conclusion!!
