Brief synopsis of My Date with Drew

Since the second grade, Brian Herzlinger has had a crush on Drew Barrymore and now 20 years later he wants to fulfill his dream by asking her on a date. It starts with two friends, a camera and $1,100, but Brian's just an average guy in LA - an aspiring filmmaker with no money. He has only one month and knows his chances are slim, but driven by the words of Drew Barrymore herself "if you don't take risks, you'll have a wasted soul". Nothing will stop him not even his Mum.

Dont judge a DVD by its cover.

It looks good, but it aint.

How Drew Barrymore put her name to this is beyond me.

Do you really want to watch some geek work out to the rocky sound track just to fill out another 7 mins or so off this drivel ? Do yourself a favour, if its Drew that interests you, fast forward to the last 15 mins, she comes across as a genuine American star , Yea i think she connected with the geek , on a like minded basis.

Good luck to the main man , as someone once said 'have camcorder will con you ' .Imagine the billboard showing you 10 mins in to this drivel, instead of a sexy red number and believe me your far nearer the Mark !!!

Heres a thought. Rather than spending time and money watching this drivel, paint a wall in your house and watch it dry. Far more enjoyable.

A film about nothing that goes nowhere with nobodys in it.

A big steaming pile of poop!

This is a documentary not a movie. Not very interesting. Very long and drawn out. Although something made me watch to the end to see if he got his date with Drew.

If your an avid Drew fan like myself you will love this, it encapsulates everything you want in a fan film, one mans dream becomes reality, well worth a watch and Drew is true to form, kind, giggly, cute, and down to earth.

Rated - 4 starsWhats not to like?

Jimmer from Bristol UK , 11/03/2007

This is great - a geek trying to meet his childhood hero is the backdrop for a guy desperate to get along in film making rather than get a rubbish job.

Luckily he is a likable guy rather than some jock and they are brilliantly honest about the challenge going wrong until a bit of luck kicks in.

If you didnt like this, you'd have to question what film you thought you were getting, because it is as good as a film of this type could be. But dont get it if you want a documentary about Drew, as it isnt one.
