Uncut

This Roger Kumble romp is unfairly, indecently funny, with its committed cast and shrewd script raising the bar from Farellys to GROUNDHOG DAY sharpness.

Rated - 3 starsNone thinking genuinly funny rom-com

Adrian from Lancaster, England , 23/01/2006

After heading out to the cinema and then not knowing what to see as it was the last screening this was about it. Wasn't expecting a lot from this romcom but I did find it genuinely funny, laughing out loud several times throughout the film, it has some truely funny scenes. The plot, well it is not great, Fat-Kid becomes fit, goes home after 10 years and bumps into his best friend who he had a crush on and tries to win her heart, nothing new here but never the less for a movie you don't have to think to watch and that provides many laughs you can't go far wrong with this.

Rated - 1 starsPoor viewing

A customer from Scotland , 13/01/2006

Previous reviews give a basic outline of the context of this film, but its is really hard to summarise something which HAS no plot. Disappointing viewing, with the occassional laugh (mostly cringworthy) thrown in. No plot, no storyline, no chemistry between actors...sorry folks, save your viewing time for something other than this film!

Rated - 5 starsjust bloody brilliant!!!

angie from ilford essex , 11/01/2006

This film had me laughing from start to finish. ryan reynolds is very funny in this film! and i'm gonna say right now when u see this film watch it right until the end, don't walk out the cinema or turn the dvd off because there is a classic screen after the credits that will have u laughing for days. all i am say is u will never hear the song ''i swear'' by all-4-one the same way again. amy smart doesn't give the best performance of her career, but anna faris is brilliant - completely different to her scarey movie character or when she was in friends. i recommened this film - not only to watch once - but watch it again!!!! basic story for u, ryan plays a fat kid turned fit. but even then he doesn't get what he wants - if he knew what he wanted! anna is a freaky model turned pop star - who always gets what she wants and amy is the girl that got away. chris klein is also in it and his actually good! i didn't like him in american pie but in this u love to hate him (ur'll see why u hate him). chris (ryan) goes back home at xmas to see his family and there u find his wacky mum, and his brother. of course his brother has a major crush on the pop star - which brings some very funny scenes.

i can tell u now u r gonna love it! and if u don't then ''wake up! and watch it again!!!
