Brief synopsis of Devil May Cry

The game many of you have been waiting for is finally here. From Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami comes Devil May Cry for the PlayStation 2. Its survival horror combined with action adventure. With stylish, gothic graphics, and solid Capcom gameplay, Devil May Cry stands out as one of the best PS2 games yet.

In the game, you assume the role of Dante, a dark character shrouded in mystery. 2000 years ago, a demon swordsman from the depths of hell waged his own personal war against our world. Dante realises that the Devil is trying to rise once again and only he can stop him once and for all.

Devil May Cry has managed to get right the balance between action and puzzle-solving. Its usually necessary to find the right item to unlock the next part of the level and items need to be found or won in battle. Along the way, all kinds of nasty creatures, such as demonic angels of death, will appear from the walls to end your adventure. Dont let fear impair your judgement. Dante can carry two weapons at once, a sword in his left hand and a gun in his other.

The control method is accurate and makes playing the game a joy. Youll be surprised how many moves Dante can perform. The audio is also top class, as it manages to add a sense of atmosphere to the action. What really stands out are the graphics. Devil May Cry has detailed and varied textures, massive environments, delicious special effects and curved surfaces a la Quake 3.

Devil May Cry is a game to play with the lights off, and one of those games to silence critics of the PS2. It may not appeal to everyone, but you have to a least give it a try.
