Brief synopsis of ESPN Winter X-Games Snowboarding 2002

To tie in with the 2002 Winter Olympics, Konami has set about, as usual, releasing several Winter Games related video games. In this particular Olympics session, the companys ESPN-orientated division has the unleashed the PlayStation 2 version of ESPN Winter X Games Snowboarding to the general public.

Statistically speaking, Winter Games Snowboarding has lots to offer. Theres around 30 well-designed courses to master, that feature big kickers and twisted rails for trick scoring. These courses can be tackled by any of 13 real-life professional boarders, including Peter Line, Tina Basich and Danny Kass, and a whole load of bonus features such as snowboarding films and an exceptional soundtrack.

Winter Games Snowboarding is divided into several game modes X Games Mode, Tutorial, Session mode, but most importantly multi-player mode. As great as it is participating as a single player, theres no denying challenging other friends offers a far more thrilling experience. The competition is stiff and unpredictable, giving Winter X Games the longevity it needs to be a successful title.

Visually, theres not much to complain about. Theres the occasional graphical glitch or folding polygon, but other than that, the game environment has been flawlessly created.

So theres plenty to do, loads of tricks to perform and a near infallible multi-player mode to get stuck into. Super, darling!
